Punk Exhibition Books

100 page catalogue & black and white photographs

Punk Exhibition Catalogue

The Punk: Rage & Revolution catalogue was the perfect accompaniment to the exhibition. Not only did each page duplicate an actual exhibition panel but it also contained extra features such as extended quotes, photos, three eight page full colour fold-outs and information that, for various reasons, couldn’t be shown within the gallery.

The 100 page, wire-bound catalogue, which was designed to represent a scrapbook from this pivotal decade, sold out within weeks of publication.

The catalogue was designed by Arch Creative with copy written Shaun Knapp, and contributions from Dr Emma Parker.

Punk Photography Book

Alongside the catalogue, a black and white book was produced which featured sixteen portraits taken by Joe Nixon. The images featured the subjects as they are now, and contrasted with photos of them during the punk era. Alongside photos of original punks, were new portraits of acclaimed photographers Steve Pyke MBE and Jack English, the musician and filmmaker Don Letts, and Jeannette Lee, former member of Public Image Ltd and founder of Rough Trade Records.

The book featured quotations from all of the subjects curated from interviews carried out by the Social Gallery team, and Steve Pyke MBE wrote a foreword for the book.
