Ongoing series featuring youth subculture creatives
In this series of film shorts we encounter a series of influential, yet lesser known creative characters, who have made their mark on youth subcultures. Rebel Reels is an ongoing project, and we will be adding new people from time to time.
The first project features a ten minute film of the acclaimed photographer Jack English, who is known for his work in the film and music industry. Here Jack talks about his life as a Mod ‘face’, his influence on the punk scene, and his life as a photographer.
The second film features the Newark born Author Alan Fletcher who wrote the novel Quadrophenia, and was a consultant on the film. Alan reflects on his experiences of the 1960s Mod scene and how the book and film came about.
